    3.4) Engine temperature sensing

The emission tester needs to measure the engine temperature, to ensure consistent emission value results.
To be able to measure the engine temperature there are a few options.

    The oil temperature sensor

An oil temperature sensor can be connected to the emission tester to let it measure the engine temperature.

The oil temperature sensor needs to be inserted in to the dipstick tube so that the tip of the sensor cable that contains a thermo couple touches the engine oil.
For this the sensor’s length needs to be adjusted.

Select the type of temperature sensor if it differs from the last time when the emission tester was used.

In the screen the actual value can be seen, so you know the sensor is operational.
